Local Futures

King’s Lynn and West NorfolkThe system presents national and local data for the district and associated wards and super output areas in King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. Users can select from a number of live, fully interactive applications for analysing and presenting the data – mapping, ranking, compare, profile, table, change and scatter. Using data selected by you, the system can create 'thematic' maps, generate league tables and compare performance, or profile an area based on a number of indicators. All analysis results can then be emailed or downloaded.

Place Profiles

The new Place Profiles function enables users to create live reports at a District, Ward and Lower Super Output Area (LSOA) level. Reports can be created on a range of topics such as economy, crime, health, deprivation and skills. These can be generated at the click of a mouse once your report topic is selected, the system pulls together the most recent and relevant indicators and inserts texts to explain what the data means.

Quality of Life Survey

The results from the survey are now available on Dawn. When the spatial level of neighbourhood is selected on any application a Quality of Life filter will appear, select this and you can view the questions under the indicator drop down. A copy of the questionnaire and full details about the survey can be found on the research tab once you have logged into the site.

2009 results are now available on Dawn; select the change application to compare the results from 2007 and 2009. Further information on the Quality of Life survey can be obtained from victoria.jackson@west-norfolk.gov.uk.

The darker areas of the map show the areas of West Norfolk which contain the higher average age within the district. For example, Brancaster and Hunstanton have higher average ages within the district. The lighter areas, such as within Denton and Spellowfields contain a lower average age within the district.

Research Documents
DAWN's research library contains information and research documents from a variety of sources. If you have commissioned any research in West Norfolk and would like your findings added to the site please contact policy@west-norfolk.gov.uk.

Feedback
Your feedback will ensure the system continues to evolve in a way that meets your needs so it is important you use the 'contact' button on the system to tell us what you think. Are there any other applications that would be useful? At what geographical level should information be made available? And, most importantly, what locally gathered datasets should be included or could you contribute?
